Okay, see, I love this. Why couldn't canon Ruby be as awesome (and more importantly, why couldn't canon Ruby be as not-dead)? Your characterization of her is fantastic, the tone too, and I love that you didn't turn her into a saint. She's still a demon - selfish, condescending, at times cruel, and most of the "good" she does she seems to do in order to follow her own pleasure - and yet she actually helps, and you get the sense that while the sex was a very motivation, it wasn't all of it. Especially in the Sam section. Such a fantastic, sympathetic view of Sam. <3 it.
