I don't think I've ever seen a fic that portrayed Castiel better - that really got across the full import of angels having no gender, rather than just having Cas say it, and then leaving the reader to figure out (or, usually, not) what that actually means for Castiel, and to just what degree Dean really does not get it.

I'm a little flaily too, because, OW. How can they ever make that work? Especially when Dean can't even talk about it?
